The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry was awarded to all military personnel of all branches who served in Vietnam between 1 March, 1961 and 28 March, 1973 regardless of their DD-214 notation.
The Army of South Vietnam awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry to both individuals and units.
Most of you never received the medal because it is a foreign decoration, and not issued by the United States government.
As the South Vietnamese Government toppled, so did their plans to officially complete presentations of this award to all personnel.
Since it was not issued by the U. S. Government, it must be purchased.
